What does an hour of flight training cost at Core Aviator Training?
Two line items, billed separately: $175 per hour for the Cherokee 140 wet — fuel and oil included — and $60 per hour for your instructor. A typical lesson bills roughly one to one and a half hours of aircraft time plus the instructor time around it.
Do I pay anything before my first lesson?
Only the $175 Discovery Flight itself. There is no enrolment fee, no deposit and no block of hours to buy up front, so nothing is sitting in our account that you have not already flown.
Why can’t you quote one fixed price for a Private Pilot License?
Because the number depends on you. The FAA minimum is 40 flight hours; students who study their ground material consistently tend to reach proficiency nearer 65. How often you fly, how much you prepare between lessons, and the weather all move the total more than any rate does.
What costs are not on this page?
Your FAA medical certificate, your books and charts, a headset, and the FAA written and checkride examiner fees. None of those are paid to us, and we will tell you what to budget for each before you commit.
Can the published rates change?
They can — fuel and maintenance move. The rates on this page are the school’s current published rates, and any change is told to you before it applies to a lesson you have booked.
